EDF gaslighting.
EDF installed a faulty reactor pressure vessel (RPV) head at EPR Flamanville
RPV is the key safety component in all nuclear stations.
Regulators ordered EDF to replace this key faulty component. EDF spinning this as as a job creation scheme.

After 17 years of construction (the plan was 4.5 years), 2 years of commissioning, and a few months of operation, France's new nuclear power plant Flamanville 3 is now getting ready for the replacement of its reactor head. It will be out of operation for a year.

Glastonbury & Somerton is home to fantastic breweries like Fine Tuned Brewery in Somerton. Sustainability is vital, but the current EPR structure risks harming producers by making them responsible for packaging they don’t produce. Yesterday I pressed the Govt on EPR’s escalating costs for producers.

Schnabel (Univ. Hamburg) pinpoints EPR's logical flaw: predictability does not preclude true randomness. Radioactive alpha decay proves correlated random events can be precisely predicted without hidden variables, confirming quantum theory's completeness.

However, it's not JUST barrier penetration that is better than M80. 855A1 EPR's soft target performance is ALSO better than that of M80.

This isn't a dig at chinese workmanship, per se, it's just that those units were Western designed AP-1000's & EPR's which France & the US were building concurrently and discovered a number of design issues late in the game, such that it's questionable how China addressed those w/o serious delay.

EPR's are going to drop in cost and build times with future projects since Britain and France both are going to invest in more, and they already have the trained workforce.

Zach Muscato on EPR’s impact on packaging innovation
Read the full story at Waste360. At each conference I’ve been to this year, extended producer responsibility (EPR) has been a huge conversation topic, and the National Plastics Conference was no different. That trend will continue as states across the U.S. move forward with varying EPR frameworks, leaving packaging manufacturers to navigate challenges and new opportunities to drive circularity. At the conference, I sat down with Zach Muscato of Plastic Ingenuity to get his perspective on how EPR is shaping innovation, partnerships, and long-term sustainability goals across the packaging value chain.

Calling it 'math' doesn't make your cherry-picked numbers true, Lenny. Let's do the actual math you’re avoiding:
Hinkley Point C: Now estimated at up to £46bn for two units. That’s ~$28bn per unit. Even adjusting for the EPR’s larger size, it’s arguably a bigger financial train wreck than Vogtle. /

It's because of all the UK-politics and Brexit.
Forward planning has been a real soft asset in the UK.

HP-C is mostly overbudget because of the politics and the bad decision on how to finance it, no UK-institutions at all.

And 7000 adaptations that UK wanted compared to the 4 EPR's elsewhere

I'll be honest, I didn't know much about the EPR's before watching this other than the fact that they're making the AP1000s look cheap in comparision, but good lord the amount and extent of redundancy they tried to cram in this, versus passive safety systems in ridiculous.

Or at least, the kind of EPR that ZWE envisions for Europe; an EPR with harmonised rules across MS, greater transparency, and initiatives to ensure that fees finance prevention, #reuse, and repair.
