I think it’s got a chance (maybe 35%?) in the lame duck. I’m in favor of it.
NJ gives a specific example: EPRA will allow more xmission, and without more xmission we will build more fossil gen in NJ which will give more kids asthma, so I hope EPRA is passed. P.S. Permitted is not equal to built.

Oh really? EPRA in theory lets anyone attend but there is only a small public part. You have to join to get into the stuff with the councillors and I'm not in the catchment area.

Isn’t the EPRA saga a good summation of this? Nixing potential increased renewable deployment because it ALSO made some room for fossils?

I think pro-EPRA climate voices are missing the point - and the real risk - of shrinking permitting timelines for fossil fuel projects. You can reject it as irrelevant bc the underlying resources largely aren't competitive today, but that's not why it's a priority across FF industries. 🔌💡

-Lobbied Congress against EPRA and BIG WIRES
-Litigating against FERC's interconnection rule bc it penalizes them for being slow
-Litigating against FERC's transmission planning rule bc it undercuts their control
