We are initiating coverage on ESGold Corp. with a BUY rating and C$0.90/sh target price. ESGold is developing the Montauban gold-silver project, a fully permitted and low capital, tailings reprocessing operation in Québec's Capitale Nationale region. The project is under construction with ~C$9M having been spent so far, and first production on track in the NTM. The site also has a hard rock crown pillar resource that ESAU plans to process following the depletion of tailings. In 2025, an ANT survey identified a deep mineralized corridor, extending ~900m in depth and over 2km in strike directly below historic workings, which ESGold plans to drill test this year. Given ESGold is entering H2/26 with construction in full swing, sufficient liquidity to fund the project through to first pour, and gold currently ~45% above the PEA assumption, we believe investors should be paying attention to this story. While the near-term tailings production backstops our valuation with a floor, in our view, the district-scale exploration potential offers uncapped upside. This puts ESAU in a rare category of junior miners that offers the stable cash flows of a producer and discovery potential of an explorer.
