So as it turns out, the real reason my framerate on the audiolink project was so bad with 4 packets wasnt due to ESP_NOW. It was ACTUALLY due to serial capping out at 921600 baud, and that limits me to 600kbps. Need to figure out a faster way to send data from my laptop to the ESP transmitter

Ah - you're using the built-in Serial firmware (AT+) for controlling the ESP-01. If you program custom ESP8266 code, you can use ESP_NOW which is much easier for doing peer-to-peer networking. It also uses much less power compared to WiFi. It's basically raw packets on the WiFi PHY.

ESP_NOW doesn't work by SSID, it works by MAC.

I was successfully confirm the Type:AN/PRC-6's compatibility with ESP_NOW. Also, the LEMO connectors on the front panel are more of a nuisance than I had expected, so it would be better to relocate the wiring for switches to the bottom of the body.

To solve the problem of not being able to read MacAddr of MCU connected to Arduino via USB_Serial, I made a trick to launch MacAddr read locally with ESP_NOW once and read the address with another MCU.

I have successfully experimented with a remote control unit that connects to Theremin via ESP_NOW via I2C.
This may be the first theremin in the world that can be trilled at a decent pitch.

I implemented Transmitter on Seeeduino/Xiao ESP32S3.
Transmitting ESP_NOW is working fine for now, but I need to connect an antenna.
The check of the wired midi receiving function is not completed.
