EURTHB Eyes ZEW Data
Yesterday Recap
EURTHB closed at 38.27. The Thai baht remained supported by stronger-than-expected Thailand Q2 GDP growth, while the EUR continued to strengthen against the USD. As a result, EURTHB traded within a range, influenced by both the direction of the Thai baht and the euro.
Fundamental Analysis – 18 Aug 2026
EURTHB is expected to trade in a range to volatile manner, with its main direction influenced by USDTHB. Today, the market will focus on Germany’s ZEW Economic Sentiment, expected at 30.0, up from 26.3, and the Eurozone ZEW Economic Sentiment, expected at 25.4, up from 23.4. Markets will also monitor comments from ECB Executive Board member Philip Lane for further clues on the EUR outlook.
Stronger-than-expected ZEW data could support the EUR. However, if USDTHB declines due to continued support for the Thai baht, this could put downward pressure on EURTHB even if the EUR receives support from stronger European data.
Technical Analysis
Bias: Sideway
EURTHB is expected to remain range-bound, with the price currently trading around 38.21–38.28. After declining from the upper zone, the pair has started to form a base near support, suggesting that it remains in a consolidation phase while waiting for a clearer directional signal.
If the price can hold above 38.21, EURTHB may rebound to test the 38.28 resistance, which coincides with an FVG and a key resistance zone. A break above this level could open the way toward 38.30–38.32. Conversely, a clear break below 38.21 would be a bearish signal and could lead to further downside.
