But the problem becomes waiting for when Michael and Laurie show up... because after so many versions, that was the pull of the first movie.
And, while they wanted to go for a trilogy, if the first one doesn't land, there's no #2. (See the new EXORCIST)

Jaws is ok for a kid-tho they may not want to go in the ocean.
Saw The Exorcist at about 14 in the movie theater - also very disturbing. Even the theme music scares me still. Scary is ok (Halloween for example) cause it was campy.

I was working in theaters and think it came up on the list they used to send around of all scheduled releases, but it dropped off it after a while & never returned. Weirdest thing on that list: Dominion: A Prequel to the Exorcist which was slated, disappeared, then came back w/ a new title/director

It's spooky season and I'm reminded that my mom saw "The Exorcist" in the cinema when it came out but she did so as a former Catholic and HIGH AS FUCK. Apparently, it scarred her for life. 😂🤣 That's one of my favorite stories she told me of her youth.
