#EasyApply
LinkedIn's EasyApply is neither easy nor able to let you apply: Discuss.

LinkedIn easyapply apps be like "How many years of experience do you have in licking butterflies?" and "Do you know a financial litigator and/or can transform into a hippopotamus on command?"

Applied to a job I very much want both through EasyApply and their actual website weeks ago and still crickets 🥲

everybody hates on linkedin until that easyapply hits

it was super fun learning that Linkedin EasyApply actually notifies you when someone reads your application, because I realized nobody even looked at any of my applications for nearly a whole year :)

Temp agencies, which used to be a good outlet through which to switch career paths, are especially heinous about this - they'll call them "rolling openings" and have them set up with the EasyApply setting on LinkedIn.

just angry-applied for a bunch of jobs on LinkedIn EasyApply even though that never works and there are no jobs anyway. which is why they can do this in the first place. I need to just calm down and suck it up but not yet.

EasyApply is the only good thing that site has brought.

On the flipside, I can't understand people on Reddit who are like, "I applied for 600 jobs in three weeks and had no callbacks".

How are you applying for that many jobs? EasyApply on LinkedIn is never, ever true.

Customize the resume and cover letter. It all takes tremendous time.

You can EasyApply the pope job on LinkedIn

No application for us unemployed job seekers on LinkedIn should ever have a background check then… I mean, unless the job is above The President it would be acceptable. I have to check the background check box even on EasyApply to have LinkedIn process it. I check the box and give it the finger!

Honestly, I've gotten to the point with LinkedIn where I will apply to a job using the EasyApply feature (even when you're told not to) because the outcome is the same.

People don't respond, so why customize every resume?

"Slut era," whispered as you spam anything with an EasyApply button.

to me job applications are "Ready to EasyApply to Lockheed Martin? click yes to subscribe to their newsletter first"

The first step on tackling youth unemployment is to put some proper guardrails around AI. Making kids jump through hoops just to be seen by a human is a huge barrier for many talented people. Plus things like easyapply make things worse. Who’s got time to go through 1,000 applications?

The job market and application experience is so broken right now, that it's exciting that LinkedIn's EasyApply managed jobs give a notification when your application is reviewed, because it means you know it didn't just go in a black hole.

This shouldn't be the norm, and it sucks.

Posting your job on LinkedIn is like tossing crumbs to a frenzy of peckers. Easy Apply has made hiring and applying lazy. It doesnt work, so do the work! Research, reach out, and engage. If you can be a bridge, be one. Let’s do better.

"Head copywriter for a sex therapy clinic" sounds like a sweet gig, too bad there's no way to actually send the 2-minute video they're requesting because they went through a recruiter who uses LinkedIn EasyApply. FUUUUUUUUUCK
