At first I thought that the Ecbert character was supposed to be Alfred’s grandpop, but then I saw that there was also an Ecbert in Wessex, and now I don’t know whether to be confused, or to assume that the filmmakers just didn’t care.

Started sorting the King Aelle GIFs. Ivan is 1 of the actors with the most meme & GIF worthy expressions. Season 4A was tougher for the king than usual, being betrayed by Ecbert AND his daughter & losing access to his grandsons & heirs.

I’ve been watching the TV series “Vikings”.
Every time there’s a scene of King Ecbert I can’t help but think of Gavin Newsom. His looks, his questionable charm and his slyness are so similar to Newsom’s it’s almost as if Linus Roache, the actor, studied Newsom to develop the Ecbert character.
