mixed use ecoquartier w/ abundant social housing, community amenities and open space when?
Affordable Talaris, a Share The Cities working group, has been demanding change at the Talaris parcel in Laurelhurst to build different & more affordable housing alongside trees, wetland, and a future daylit creek. We are heartened by the news that this parcel may have a different future!

On est tellement à la ramasse que même nos "éconormes" de construction sont archi-nulles pour faire face aux enjeux.

one has a ton of social housing. one has very little.
one has open space. one has very little.
the building heights? also similar... 6-10 stories.

and yet... the only real planning documents we have for new urban development are land use (zoning) codes.
there are ways to plan an ecoquartier around private land ownership.

Je ne dénoncerai pas la ville en question, elle a déjà assez d'ennuis avec son club de foot qui est dernier de L2

and because paris planning codes aren't trash like the US - the blocks have additional semi-public space (courtyards!) and most of the streets in the district are car-free walkways with space for nature, playgrounds, etc.

Apparemment on a encore perdu l'eau chaude collective. Ça ne va pas arranger le problème de puanteur mais au moins je ne vais pas aggraver mes problèmes de fièvre maintenant 😅😅

when paris built the new clichy batignolles ecoquartier for 7,500 residents and space for nearly 13,000 jobs - they centered a large 25-acre climate adaptive park in the middle of it. it's great. quiet, too (not on an arterial!)

when paris built the new clichy batignolles ecoquartier for 7,500 residents and space for nearly 13,000 jobs - they centered a large 25-acre climate adaptive park in the middle of it. it's great. quiet, too (not on an arterial!)
