We assessed the future distribution of the #invasivepest #BactroceraDorsalis in Italy using #EcologicalNicheModels.
Our findings project an expansion of suitable habitats under future climate scenarios, with increases of over 7000% by 2100.

By incorporating abundance into #EcologicalNicheModels, we show that #climatechange may cause stronger population declines than traditional distribution models predict. Species may persist geographically while experiencing abundance losses.
