Homan calls sanctuary cities a "sanctuary for criminals," but Adams knows New York better. And yet, he stayed silent!

If you don’t resist it, you’re complicit.

I like this challenger candidate for the NY City Councilmember race we’ll be voting in for our DEM primary, named Edafe Okporo. I’m leaning his way, away from incumbent Abreu. I like Okporo’s fresh attitude and community approach to solving problems. @WestSideRag www.westsiderag.com/2025/06/04/a...

Anti-corruption expert and law professor Zephyr Teachout endorses Edafe Okporo, who is campaigning for City Council District 7 of the Upper West Side in New York City. This is a hot race against an incumbent who endorsed infamous, and since indicted, Mayor Eric Adams.
I’m proud to have the support and endorsement from former New York Attorney General Candidate Zephyr Teachout. Her leadership and determination to root out big money inspires me everyday.

Let’s win this!

NYC wouldn’t be what it is today without our public servants. Yet the city has been trying for years to push public service retirees onto a cost-cutting, for-profit Medicare Advantage plan.

The City's political leadership is failing its retirees. It's time to keep our promises.

C’est la vie.
At 6:47 p.m., I arrived at the poll site and a young man with a press badge said, “Oh, you’re Edafe?” Then asked, “Can I take your portrait?”
“I’ll make sure you get a pic on your Wikipedia page tonight,” he said.
What a way to close this chapter.

This morning, Edafe stood with the #ARTSMSM Precollege Faculty Union in Morningside, fighting for FAIR WAGES!

Residents tell me they need a leader who will stand up to institutions and fight for fair wages. I'm committed to protecting workers’ rights and ensuring New Yorker earns a livable wage.

New York stands at a crossroads. Skyrocketing rents, a housing crisis, and strained healthcare leave too many struggling. We need leadership that puts people first.

I stand with @maketheroadny.bsky.social, @jfrejnyc.bsky.social, @nychange.bsky.social & #CloseRikers to demand bold action.

While Eric Adams sits in Albany explaining why he cut $112 million for early childhood programs like 3-K, I'm proud to say that I was in District 7 hosting a forum on childcare with Jaime-Jin Lewis and Ruth Horry.
