BUT this is where I admit that I always watch the intro again after the movie and outro anyway...so that worked out.

Glad I saw #TheWomanOnTheBeach on #NoirAlley. @EddieMuller’s context clarifies why it felt hollowed out, missing chunks, rushed into a resolution-and sad-but not because of the story.

At long last, my write-up on the final film shown at @sfsilentfilm’s Day of Silents. I talk a bit about the (great) film but more abous its presentation, including @EddieMuller’s intro, possibly the final words I’ll ever hear spoken at the Castro Theatre:

I’m not a regular TCM subscriber but house-sitting for a relative who is gave an otherwise rare experience of greatly enjoying a movie I’d never even heard of before, & getting a clue as to why it’s not better known thanks to @EddieMuller’s excellent outro

Shadow of a Doubt (Hitchcock 43)³ Finally clicked as top-tier Hitchcock for me. @EddieMuller’s intro calling it “character suspense” helped.
