ANNOUNCEMENT: EduColor and the TC Center on History and Education have received a major grant from the Spencer Foundation to support our work together in the HEAL (Histories of Education Action & Learning) Collaborative! Over the last few years, we've been building up an institute at the intersection of teacher learning and education activism, and we're grateful that we'll get to both research and learn more about how this might enhance new notions of teacher professionalism!

Your favorite educator-researcher's favorite researcher-educator. I adore José and the EduColor crew 💎
Well, that escalated quickly, so:

What’s good?

Jose Vilson, former 15-year math teacher turned sociologist (PhD). I gained notoriety as a teacher activist during the NCLB/Bloomberg era, and got my blog blocked from all NYC DOE computers!

Now, I study the present and future of teaching. Salute!

It's been 10 years since the founding of @educolor.org! I almost forgot, but that's a good thing because it means we've been putting in the work.

#EduColor has impacted the lives of many, and we'll continue growing that impact in the most dire circumstances.

Congratulations, Leon Smith, national Teacher of the Year! #educators #education #educolor #AP #history #teacher #TOY

I currently work in Public Pre-k for my local school district and yea…not gonna lie…it’s hella scary to think that programs like Headstart could be amongst the first to lose funding under the new administration and our youngest learners will pay that price.

I’ve been heavy in my thoughts since the Election and I just feel called to be an abolitionist for access to quality education for children that look like my own.
