At home in the kitchen. On the table: Oyakodon (chicken and egg simmered together, topped with more egg, and served over a rice bowl), Katsudon (pork cutlet topped with egg and served over rice), a sunny-side-up egg (amazingly, it had two yolks when I cracked it!), a Pō-tama (a rice ball filled with luncheon pork and egg), wakame miso soup (miso broth with seaweed), and lightly pickled cucumber slices. On the back-right shelf, there’s a skewer of flavoured eggs called umashio tamago. Behind that, near the sink, there’s an oyakodon meal kit. The sink is full of messy cooking tools left behind after all the cooking.
