Eightmile was really nice- much less difficult than Colchuck Lake and WAY less people. The majority of the hike is through an old burn, but the regrowth is beautiful. I’d definitely recommend it, plus two river otters swam right past us as we sat on the shore! 🦦 🦦 ☺️💕

Yes climbed all those peaks around there once upon a time I glissaded down the entire Colchuck Col this picture was taken while summiting Eightmile mountain a beautiful angle.

It dropped because of the huge push east, towards Friend and Dufur. Since it’s running out of trees that direction it might be easier to stop? At least the NW and S sides seem stable.
It’s really sad to think of the areas lost (Lookout Mt, Badger Creek/Lake, Eightmile Meadow, Fret Creek)….
