I don't really understand the #EileenGu hate. She was raised by a single mother who is #Chinese, and unclear if she even knows who her father is. She speaks fluent #Mandarin and has spent a lot of time in #China.
There are a lot of Americans representing other countries with far less ties to them

Per JD's definition, #EileenGu isn't a "heritage American."

His definition-- apparently, ancestry traceable in the US to before Civil War-- would exclude nearly all Asian-Americans.

So, is JD willing to accept all Asian-Americans as American?
