the elemist chronicles opens with a species of bird esque aliens who live on a floating crystal planet. The birds work together to flap and keep their home crystals afloat. And theres discussion amongst birds if installing engines would be "depriving the youth of a work ethic" IE UBI is lazy

I didn't read all of it, def got from book one to the Elemist and the Howlers is that far enough for the eye thing? I thought I had it for other reasons

You're basically playing David if he met the Elemist immediately after becoming an Animorph...and then they do nothing with that premise except reguritate another two books with possible bad endings for David. I would love to see actual David talking to the Elemist.
