Several Elgin council members asked the city to pursue a forensic audit and legal review after hearing audit findings and accounting irregularities. The city's police chief said the Texas Rangers' supervisor told staff the Rangers will contact the city next week to arrange a meeting; the comptroller had not yet reached out, staff said.
