David Olusoga has a way of making letters, documents, maps, and artefacts bring history to astonishing life. Another excellent series. Let's hope the BBC isn't forced to apologise to those who deny the causal relationship between, slavery, exploitation, violence and empire.

David Olusoga investigates the history of the British Empire in new TV series #EmpireWithDavidOlusoga:

I’d love to tape Farage and his army of racist numbskulls mouths shout, prop their eyelids open Clockwork Orange style and make them watch all three episodes of #EmpireWithDavidOlusoga

I have just watched the final episode of historian David Olusoga's epic BBC series Empire. In these politically and culturally turbulent times it should be essential viewing especially in all secondary schools. I was really impressed by the balance and breadth of the story #empirewithdavidolusoga
