Since our Nintendo 64 stopped working and I’ve been itching to play Ocarina of Time again, I decided it’s time to try setting up RetroArch + EmulationStation. Still needs some tweaking but it’s working for N64 games!

A lot of the excitement for iiSU seems like it’s coming from folks who aren’t familiar with emulator frontends. Things like iiSU already exist! You should check out EmulationStation! It just doesn’t have all the (probably unrealistic) social stuff.

you guys had hype for iisu to begin with? that shit was a disaster waiting to happen from the beginning. what if emulationstation had microtransactions and a paid tier. and social features that we will definitely implement securely and with stability at scale

When it comes to the usage of GenAI, retro gamers like youtubers and people making assets for fangames for specific engines and frontends might be the biggest offenders. Every addon software for stuff like EmulationStation, Batocera, etc. are now using AI generated logos or thumbnails for their shit

Friendly reminder that Mednafen, MAME, EmulationStation, LaunchBox, and the MiSTer FPGA exist too if people want to use multi system emulators!

RetroArch is a psyop, a false flag to convince people that emulators are difficult to use, unintuitive, and maintained by unfriendly people uninterested in making anything better.

More pocket #dinosaur gaming update. Zniw Adventure still baking but Zid Journey also runs on Portmaster. Testing with the Anbernic RG34XX-SP as well since it has more memory. RAM is tight on the 35 with EmulationStation hogging memory on some CFWs. 1GB works well, it just runs OOM.

Lisäsin Commodore 64:n peleihini "Uuno Turhapuro muuttaa maalle"-pelin, joka on ensimmäinen suomalaisen elokuvan pohjalta tehty peli. Elokuvan ensi-ilta oli elokuussa 1986 ja peli tuli samana vuonna joulumarkkinoille. Peli on vaikea, mutta siinä on hyvät musiikit. #pelit #retropie #commodore64
