Problems 1. The tag is redundant. The markdown hook already injects render_mode into the payload (line 51 of markdown_body_hook.rb): payload_with_mode = payload.merge('render_mode' => 'markdown') So {{ render_mode }} already works in includes without a new tag. The {% capture %}{% render_mode %}{% endcapture %} dance is solving a problem that doesn't exist. 2. It violates the established architecture. The documented pattern is: tags check render_mode and branch; includes/templates stay format-agnostic. This commit pushes format branching into .html include files, creating dual-format templates — the opposite of separation of concerns. Every future resume edit now has to maintain both branches in sync. 3. It doesn't scale. Any other page with custom includes (e.g., a future "talks" or "projects" page) would need the same if/else pattern copied into each include.
