People are probably going to be mad about Energybending appearing so early, but to be honest, Energybending has *always* been an asspull anyway. It's existence in the narrative is more to serve a thematic purpose than a logical one. I honestly prefer Aang & Pavi/Nisha's use of it to Korra's.

I honestly read chi-blocking as more of a hint that energybending could exist. I get the Ty Lee theory but my headcanon these days is that the airbenders who manifest in Korra's time are reincarnations of deceased air nomads.

I like that Pavi's leg is part of the mystery surrounding her being separated from Nisha and her family. I also like that the anomaly thrives off causing and amplifying fear in others. As far as I know, this is the first time energybending is referred to as such #RalWatchesAvatarSevenHavens

Effectively letting it die completely. Killing Ozai is a betrayal of the thematic core of the show.
I agree it should have been set up better, but there are hints at energybending, even if minor, and ultimately it doesn't bother me to much because of how well written everything around it was

In this what if or divergence timeline: Katara teaches healing to both boys and girls. She also certainly taught Avatar Aang how to use bloodbending properly —for helping others— and they agreed to resort to energybending against any waterbender who used this technique for evil✨

It took me a while to settle on how I felt about Energybending. I can see why people would think this is an ass pull out of nowhere. Aang had to end the battle somehow without killing Ozai, but no one predicted it'd be this. Lion Turtles were only really foreshadowed as statues in, like, one episode

watched the movie and...hm. quite mixed feelings overall, but i have to give a zillion credit where it's due: fucking GORGEOUS esp backgrounds
i am now laughing to myself about that whole energybending ramble. but also i stand by that as an AU solution because fuck it is why, it's good.

(it doesn't run on the narrative rules of Gritty Realism, but also it brings a lot of realism and psychological grounding into its setting, and i think that's part of its magic. and to me, the no-kill energybending ending is the bow that ties that all together.)
