So many government programs are absolute force multipliers, from the 15 cents each of us spends per year for Energy Star authorization coming back to us 100 fold (EnergyStar is the way outlier savings generator machine) through basic research funding on insects making our lives safer & better.

It's become absurd to think that businesses and consumers might WANT to save on their energy bills, and might WANT to help protect their children's futures. EnergyStar labels have been a driving factor in our personal choices when replacing appliances and windows. It's another sad day in Amerika.

I remember EnergyStar being really helpful when you wanted to buy a fridge that wasn't going to double your electric bill, yes. And I like my cool long-lasting LED bulbs that don't send me up a ladder to change them every few months, too.
