Every Trump appointee and Roberts must resign or they get exiled to the newly created circuit court of Enewetak
This will absolutely never happen and I am purely speaking fantasy, but the next Democratic trifecta should call Roberts and tell him he has 72 hours to resign along with at least 1 other conservative judge or the courts are going to be expanded to 15
🚨 BREAKING: In a 6-3 decision, SCOTUS allows Trump to dismiss the last Democratic member of the Federal Trade Commission, signaling a potential overturn of a 90-year-old ruling protecting independent agencies from executive control.

Fusion has worked since November, 1952, on Enewetak Atoll. Just working out a few details in the ensuing eight decades.

Pacific island atolls, particularly Bikini and Enewetak in the Marshall Islands, remain largely uninhabitable decades after U.S. nuclear tests (1946-1958)…

At this moment in 1952 (7:14:59 AM November 1, local time), the United States tested the first true (albeit undeliverable, weighing a massive 82 tons) hydrogen bomb at Enewetak Atoll. The 10.4-Megaton MIKE explosion vaporized Elugelab Island, leaving behind a crater 1.2 miles wide and 164 feet deep.

Today in 1952—November 16, local time—the United States conducted the Ivy KING nuclear test at Enewetak Atoll in the Northern Pacific Ocean. A B-36H bomber flying from Kwajalein Atoll dropped an 8,600-pound device, which exploded 1,480 feet above Runit Island with a yield of 500 kilotons.

I propose we revoke their citizenship and send them to Bikini Atoll and Enewetak Atoll, the two most radioactively contaminated islands in the Marshall Islands. They've earned it.

#OTD in 1944, an overloaded PB4Y-1 Liberator patrol bomber trying to take off from the airfield on Enewetak Atoll crashed into a row of parked carrier replacement planes. The ensuing fire caused the Liberator's bombs to detonate, destroying 84 aircraft and damaging dozens more.

In the 1950s, the US carried out nuclear weapons tests on the Enewetak Atoll, part of the Marshall Islands. The resulting radioactive waste is still stored under the concrete “Runit Dome”. Now that’s at risk from heat and rising sea levels.

Veterans like Paul Laird, Tim Snider, and David Roach, who have suffered for years from multiple serious health problems linked to their work on the Enewetak Radiological Support Project but who have long been denied government-supported medical care by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Roughly 4,000 service members helped clean up the Enewetak Atoll from nuclear tests. Many now have ailments they think result from the work, but the government won’t provide health care.

Here are remarkable before and after photographs of the MIKE test’s almost unimaginable impact on Enewetak Atoll in the North Pacific Ocean, showing the complete disappearance of Elugelab Island and the partial destruction of Sanil Island, leaving in their place a huge crater on the seafloor.

For an excellent examination of the history and lethal legacy of US nuclear testing in Nevada, the Pacific Proving Grounds (Bikini and Enewetak Atolls, Christmas Island, and Johnston Atoll), and multiple other locations, see Lesley Blume’s September 2022 article in National Geographic.
U.S. nuclear testing's devastating legacy lingers, 30 years after moratorium
The United States conducted 1,054 atomic tests—costing more than $100 billion and taking an incalculable toll on humans and the environment.

Today in 1958, the United States conducted its third underwater nuclear test—Wahoo (9 kilotons)—8,000 feet outside of Enewetak Atoll lagoon off Bogan Island. A B7 “Betty” nuclear depth bomb was detonated 490 feet underwater (in water 3,200 feet deep) near an array of ships, barges, and submarines.

I was keen to solve the mystery. A quick online search turned up a perfect match.

This is the MOHAWK thermonuclear weapon test, part of Operation Redwing. It was conducted from atop a 300-foot tower on Eberiru (Ruby) Island at Enewetak Atoll on July 3, 1956 (local time). The yield was 360 kilotons.

Today in 1979, the massive concrete dome on Runit Island at Enewetak Atoll was completed, entombing 4,700 cubic meters of radioactive debris and more than 83,000 cubic meters of contaminated soil scraped off neighboring islands—the dangerous residue of 43 US nuclear tests from 1948-58.

Unfortunately, thousands of the veterans whom the new law was intended to help have had their claims denied by the Department of Veterans Affairs. “They’re waiting for us to die,” said Kenneth Brownell, 66 (pictured), in August 2023, one of the first soldiers sent to clean up Enewetak Atoll in 1977.
Despite a new law enacted a year ago, the Dept. of Veterans Affairs has rejected 86% of claims from more than 4,100 veterans exposed to harmful levels of radiation decades ago while cleaning up debris from nuclear weapons accidents or at Pacific nuclear test sites, or when observing nuclear tests.

The Department of Veterans Affairs said it has granted about 570 of 4,100 claims as many radiation-exposed veterans die of cancer and old age.

Today in 1958 on Runit Island, to conclude Operation Hardtack I, the United States conducted FIG, its 43rd and final nuclear test at Enewetak Atoll. The yield was just 20 tons (.02 kilotons). The tested device evolved into the W54—the lightest and lowest-yield US fission warhead ever deployed.

The 1958 "Wahoo" test, part of Operation Hardtack I, was the first underwater nuclear explosion in this series. A 9 kt atomic bomb detonated 500 ft underwater near Enewetak Atoll, creating a massive spray dome and impacting nearby naval ships. en.wikipedia.org?curid=1107058
