Engro Corporation’s board has approved Junaid Iqbal as successor to President and CEO Ahsan Zafar Syed, with Iqbal set to take charge after Syed completes his term in April 2027, Engro Holdings said Monday. Iqbal currently serves as adviser to the CEO of Engro Holdings and will engage closely with Engro Corporation’s businesses and operations during the transition period before formally assuming the role. #### Who is Junaid Iqbal? Iqbal has experience across technology, finance and media, including leadership roles at Careem and Elixir Securities. At Careem, he scaled the company’s Pakistan business, led its Saudi Arabia market and later served as managing director and global head of Careem Pay. Earlier, as CEO of Elixir Securities, Iqbal helped reposition the firm and worked on privatization transactions, including the government’s USD 1 billion sale of a 40% stake in HBL. Engro said his experience in platform building, capital allocation and partnership development aligns with its plans to create new growth platforms and enhance its portfolio to generate sustainable long-term returns. #### What happens to Ahsan Zafar Syed? Syed will continue to lead Engro Corporation for the remainder of his term through April 2027. After completing his tenure, he will become counsel to the chairman of Engro Holdings, allowing the company to continue drawing on his experience and institutional knowledge. Engro credited Syed’s tenure with several milestones, including the Supplemental Implementation Agreement for EVTL, the reintegration of thermal assets into the portfolio and key transactions involving Deodar and Engro Polymer & Chemicals. The company also said Engro Corporation was consistently recognized among leading companies on the Pakistan Stock Exchange during his leadership. #### How will Engro manage the leadership transition? Engro said the coming months will support a structured transition, with Iqbal working closely with the company’s businesses and operations before assuming the top role. Under Syed’s mentorship, Iqbal will also contribute to key strategic priorities before formally becoming president and CEO in April 2027. Engro said the succession reflects its focus on leadership continuity, corporate governance and long-term succession planning as the group builds on its industrial businesses and develops new platforms for growth.

KARACHI: A cargo ship carrying around 82,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar arrived in Pakistan through the near-closed Strait of Hormuz, reported _Anadolu_ news agency on Thursday. Al Marrouna, carrying LNG from Qatar’s Ras Laffan terminal, transited through the strait on Monday and docked at the Engro LNG Terminal at Port Qasim on Thursday morning, said Asad Altaf, a spokesman for the port. It marked the first Qatari LNG shipment for Pakistan through the strait since July. According to Altaf, the last Qatar-origin LNG cargo arrived on July 11, the news agency reported. “The scheduled cargoes from Qatar Energy had been disrupted due to the regional situation,” he added. > First shipment via Hormuz since July 11 will boost supplies to power sector The fresh shipment that Pakistan procured under a government-to-government arrangement with Qatar is likely to boost the LNG supplies and provide temporary relief to the power sector. It has also eased concerns over a prolonged disruption of Qatari LNG supplies through the strait. Islamabad and Doha have been playing an active role in ongoing mediation between the US and Iran to bring the two sides back to the table to end their months-long war. Pakistan is currently facing power outages of between six and 12 hours in several parts of the country amid soaring fuel prices due to fresh hostilities in the Strait of Hormuz. Currently, Islamabad is following a daily fuel price mechanism in response to the volatile crude market, triggering protests by political parties. Stakeholders genuinely fear that an escalating war in the Gulf could severely disrupt supplies of both crude oil and LNG. Pakistan has recently been buying crude oil from the US in small quantities, but the cost is higher because of long-distance shipping. Retirar, primeiramente, o excesso de gordura da costela e aquecer uma panela grande. Depois, colocar a carne com a parte mais gordurosa voltada para baixo e selar bem. 2. Virar, em seguida, os pedaços de costela e dourar todos os lados até formar uma crosta. Depois, retirar a carne da panela e reservar. 3. Refogar, então, metade da cebola e o alho na mesma panela, aproveitando o fundo formado pela costela. Em seguida, mexer até dourar levemente. 4. Transferir, depois, a costela para uma panela de pressão e acrescentar o refogado, os tomates, o louro, a páprica, o colorau, o extrato e o sal. 5.
