The Arts and Industries Building as seen from the Enid A. Haupt Gardens at the National Mall.

Two magnolia trees are in full pink and white bloom in front of the West side entrance of the Arts and Industries Building. The sky is a light blue and puffy clouds separate the roofline and the sky. Two of the ornate slate roof turrets are visible as well as the rotunda. The 1879 date of construction plaque, colorful polychrome Brickwork and glazed terra cotta sit between the trees. The craftsmanship, artistic design and quality of materials are my favorite parts of the building and are what is missing in modern public buildings. This was shot with a Sony A7 camera and a 100mm lens shot at f8.
