I had a brilliant time at #Ento26 in Cardiff, the annual conference of @royentsoc.bsky.social 🐝

As a behavioural ecologist works on insects, I loved being surrounded by such a wide range of insect science, from ecology and behaviour to physiology, conservation and pest management.

#Ento26 was inclusive, welcoming, and lots of fun: highlights included the Ento card series and joining @lizzie-harper.bsky.social drawing workshop 🦋

Last week, I attended the Ento26 conference organised by The Royal Entomological Society in Cardiff. I was involved as a student volunteer to help run the event and also had the opportunity to present my masters work. I was also fortunate enough to meet some great like-minded people.

This is the Peacock butterfly, Aglais io, which I painted at #Ento26. The progress photos show the steps involved, from laying down initial washes of colour, through adding detail and building colour. The last progress phot shows everything painted but bottom eye spots, antennae and the wing veins
