#Eps15
I am happy to share our new article on dynamic Eps15 and Dab2 networks in endocytosis studied by #NMR, and forming #LLPS. Research was done at @fmp-berlin.de and at the Institut de Biologie Structurale (IBS).

Eps15, a protein involved in endocytosis initiation, uses small folded EH domains to bind disordered partner proteins and its own disordered tail, thus forming a dynamic network via phase separation t...

Happy to report the publication of our study on the mechanism of endocytic site initiation in Plos Biology: journals.plos.org/plosbiology/...
The conserved protein adaptors CALM/AP180 and FCHo1/2 cooperatively recruit Eps15 to promote the initiation of clathrin-mediated endocytosis in yeast
Clathrin-mediated endocytosis (CME) is one of the main trafficking processes, but the mechanism that initiates CME sites remain unclear. These authors show that yeast CALM/AP180 and FCHo1/2 adaptor pr...

Ohhh good advice then! Though maybe if I start Echo after watching ep14 I'll get to the stuff in eps15&16 after I've watched it? Because it'll take longer to read

Like [SPOILERS] I love shamimi i really do but i was so prepared fpr the beast story to be done and all that and maybe they get redemption but it feels like they are REALLYYY dragging out shadow milk as a villian, it just feels really unsatisfying after eps15 ,, idk it just, didnt feel good

Principal Investigator Jeanne Stachowiak and researchers at @utaustin.bsky.social demonstrate that protein condensates provide a platform for recruitment and assembly of clathrin triskelia using in vitro reconstitution and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Of condensates and coats - reciprocal regulation of clathrin assembly and the growth of protein networks - Nature Communications
Biomolecular condensates of Eps15 recruit and assemble clathrin. In turn, clathrin assembly restricts condensate growth while imposing the preferred curvature of the clathrin lattice.

EPS15L1:p (epidermal growth factor receptor pathway substrate 15 like 1) is an evolutionarily conserved paralog of EPS15:p. It has a similar arrangement of the 4 nward structured domains, but has detailed differences wrt its phosphoIDRs. The paralogs do not share any tryptic peptides. #proteomics

EPS15:p (epidermal growth factor receptor pathway substrate 15) has a single EGFR kinase signal acceptor (hs: Y849; mm: Y850), but plenty of S/T acceptors for other kinases. These acceptors flank the nward EF-hand pair & in at least 3 cward phosphoIDRs. #proteomics

Epidermal growth factor receptor pathway substrate 15 (EPS15:p) is named for its role as an acceptor for a Y-kinase, which does not seem to happen in practice. Instead it has multiple pS hot zones. They are simple (adjacent to the nward eponymous EH domains) or compound (in the cward pIDR).
