Horsetail! Marsh horsetail (Equisetum palustre), I believe!
These plants are a fascinating look into the earliest evoluntionary history of plants and the relative simplicity of them is a testament to this!

Horsetails Are Ancient Polyploids: Evidence from Equisetum giganteum
An ancient polypoloidy event in horsetails during the late Cretaceous predates the divergence of today's extant species and may have contributed to the longevity of the genus Equisetum.

Horsetails (Equisetum spp.) are one of those “living fossil” plants that have managed to hang on after most of the rest of their family has died off. They produce spores, which look like little round seeds with four “arms” curved around their body. Watch this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvC4...

Equisetum (Horsetail) growing among grasses & woody plants near Swan Lake Minnesota.
Leaves in whorls fuse into dark colored nodes. The hollow green stem is jointed, ridged, & silica-rich, & called scouring rush or snake grass when used to scrub. Horsetail is neither a rush nor a grass but a reed.

In the back for some height are horsetail reeds, coralled in some cinder block construction debris I found when clearing ivy. “The oldest remains of modern Equisetum species first appear in the Early Jurassic.” !! (wiki) (3/6)
