Where are you from based on how you pronounce 'Toronto'

"Toe-Ron-Roe" - You're not from Toronto or the GTA.

"Tron-Toh" - You're from the GTA.

"Tranah" - You're from Toronto.

"Shithole" - You're from Hamilton.

Bonus Round:

If you pronounce Etobicoke as 'Etobicoke' youre not from Etobicoke.

In Toronto, I call this the "Etobicoke Grandma Manoeuvre," based on the comments of the former mayor defending a 50% increase in development charges while property taxes stayed below inflation.

Good news! Visited IKEA in Etobicoke today. Wandered around, had some delicious plant-based meatballs, and got some design inspo.

Better news! I was in Etobicoke solving my mini-reno flooring issue!

Bad news. Got a sunburn trying to get from IKEA to Kipling Stn because there’s no shuttle bus.

With respect, the entire premise of the legislation isn't based in evidence-based decision making. The province has already rejected the city's offer to keep bike lanes and restore car lanes in Etobicoke. Ask Stantec how well accepting the last contract worked out.

Of course he did.

"The online city database lists him as the principal of an Etobicoke-based firm called MDF Strategies, and shows that so far he has one client, a company called Protexxa Inc. The company’s website describes it as a “global cybersecurity platform"

The 4-year expansion plan was based on current and future infrastructure but also a lot on equity and income. Central Etobicoke did not receive any new stations AFAIK due to how high the income in that area is and the demographics. The plan was based to give access to people who needed it the most.

There is a big one near me in Etobicoke with a truly gigantic cross that I find very offputting but it does seem like a diverse audience attends, at least based on the people I see coming out of the driveway if I happen to pass by after a service.

hi, wanted to share another update!

Still hunting for a job and I'm trying to reset my ping-ponging couch-crashing system to be based around the area my campus is in (if you're in etobicoke, ON and a free spot, lemme know)

But yea, school is starting school and I think the fear is kicking in lol

What if we introduce an air quality scale based on picking like four points (neighborhood of CN tower, Kensington Market, High Park, Etobicoke) and checking how many of them you can see the CN tower from
Colloquially known as The Etobicoke Method (. . . when you have a window facing the correct direction. Served me well for ages!)
AQI is too complicated and AQHI is too nonspecific so I propose a new form of air quality index: "Can I see the CN Tower"

Let’s not knock people based on where they live. I’m from Etobicoke. There are lots of suburban people who want better non-car transport. And there’s lots of urbanists who hate bike lanes and would never take transit.

Given the hostility & incitement of violence at Stephen Holyday's February 28 event about the 2025-27 #BikeTO plan, I sent this letter to Cody MacRae - who started the anti Bloor bike lane petition - & CC'ed Holyday holding him responsible as well. #TOpoli www.twowheeledpolitics.ca/2024/03/call...
