The concept of Antinous'mom getting mistaken for him when she visits.

Eupeithes' genes didn't even try

Basically, Eupeithes does everything that Odysseus doesn't

He was about to kill off baby Anti but decided to raise him instead because he wanted a sense of normalcy in his life which led him ultimately to leave the pirate life behind and move to Ithaca

I was listening to "Horse and the Infant" and "Just a Man" and I had this thought

So like I headcanon that Antinous looks nothing like his father Eupeithes, and I was thinking, "What if Antinous isn't his son, instead Eupeithes found him while fighting a war after killing Anti's father #antinous

and ofc conflict bw suitors and Odysseus’ household is conflict bw aristocratic families—Eupeithes’ complaint is that Odysseus restores his status only by screwing over their households of suitors, who now lack heirs, as two generations have gone w Odysseus

Eupeithes calls him "scheming" and criticizes his habit of getting the men of Ithaca killed. The Ithacans then rally to avenge the suitors Odysseus slaughtered.

⠀
antinous, the son of eupeithes, is the most prominent leader of the suitors of penelope. renowned in ithaca as the finest of his age in eloquence and counsel, he is equally marked by arrogance, violence, and deceit.

during odysseus’s long +
