it is great you bring this up, bc Euroball has a lot of issues; Today there were conversations abt the lack of goal line tech bc some of these games r being played in glorified training grounds and aren’t amazingly resourced. The gaps just get filled by “men’s soccer pedigree.”
What’s weird to me about UWCL is that teams like RM and PSG can play each other in a stadium that’s barely suitable for a high school game in front of barely anyone and we over here have some sort of bizarre inferiority complex about it compared to NWSL

This is extra ridiculous when you understand that all these ladies play overseas where women’s BB is big business, they get paid much more and the game is taken seriously. The W is a PT job for many which is why they all leave to go play Euroball mid season.

He’s 100% right btw. It’s really messed up and unfair to the college players. If you leave school to enter the draft, whether you get drafted by a NBA team, go to a G-League team, go undrafted and go play Euroball. Your done. College is over, go do what you can do.

Weirdly, despite everything, I expect us to do really well in midweek euroball. Based on absolutely nothing grounded in reality, I might add. Purely a gut feeling.

Seattle outplayed the Lynx. Seattle shot well and so many paint points. Really missed Jess gone for Euroball. Defense was better for the 2nd quarter and and start of the 3rd but overall Seattle played better.

it also isn’t promoted very well or very visible as others have noted, so what does it mean to the organizers? All this creates apathy, and with apathy, the competition can never kind overcome the Euroball bias to get eyeballs, bc what? people would rather watch Euroteams do continental footy anyway

The main diff in my eyes (caveat: I wear contacts) is with a cap and roster rules, NWSL’s “good teams” are less powerful and their “bad teams” are better, but in general I’d say both Euroball and Americaball avg out near the same spot in terms of quality/ability...

Euroball to NWSL isn’t a huge diff either direction anymore, imo: ideas, players and approaches to the game in general travel a decent bit, the playing field is pretty steady, which means it’s fair to struggle some, but it’s still stuff we shouldn’t be surprised by…

But more parity by definition makes more “competitive games” even if both teams are shit, so I think in that department, NWSL plays more “competitive games” bc Euroball having a higher ceiling and lower floor means u have to wait for good teams to play each other or shit teams to play each other
