Sorry Nurbs, but their plugs are superior... you can plug in an adapter to your own homemade Europlug adapter and still get the 115VAC shocks and burnt skin. But the 230VAC shocks give a much better feel and experience all the way, not to mention the burning sensation lasts longer.

"Still"? That's just a Europlug. All my appliances have one, except the washer & dryer and fine electronics stuff (PC, oscilloscope, etc) that have Schuko plugs with neutral. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europlug

I bought a cheap projector that does something similar with its supply, using a type-C like a barrel jack with nutty voltage, and I'm glad it's a europlug because otherwise someone might try charging something else with it.

my favourite trick with these is to stick a key in the earth socket, thereby making it possible to insert a europlug. it shouldn't be that easy to fuck with.

Today I learned that the UK shaver plug (BullShit/BS 4573) is different to the normal EU plugs (Europlug), and a UK shaver may not fit into an EU power adapter.

Living in France I quite like the Europlug, it's compact and the prongs don't bend and for beefy things there's the round grounded one, although my house is 40-something years old and has unearthed sockets that the round grounded one will still work with.

We watch 2 guys who need to charge their mobiles. They tried every #WallSocket in the lobby & there are many. WallSockets on the #Seychelles are #British standard. Their chargers are #europlug & not compatible. They don't give up & start to test the sockets again 😹
