Choral evensong even worse.

1. The post-evensong half in the pub was accompanied by some amazing tunes.
2. Autumnal colours crossing the common.
3. Being reminded in tonight's Harvest sermon that thankfulness is a spiritual discipline.

Yes, I'm going to try #ThreeGoodThings again.

My dad's first parish had a couple: if no one who'd be offended (i.e. English) was at Morning Prayer or Evensong they'd let their hair down and have a proper knees up.

Here’s the beginning of the quarter of St Clements at Wymondham Abbey - at one point I could hear the bells, the choristers practising before evensong, and the whistle of a steam train - all of the sounds and all of the feels!

This morning's Sunday Worship on BBC Radio 4 is well worth catching up with on BBC Sounds.

An absolute privilege to be asked to chat all things Evensong alongside such luminaries as Roderick Williams, Sarah MacDonald, Harry Christophers, and Katherine Dienes-Williams.

Although I’d sung in choirs, & my Mum was a gifted soprano, my awareness of classical music was very limited. Keeping my old man on side when I worked at the kitchen table & he did the dishes, I messed around on FM till 1 day I stumbled across Choral Evensong.

Changed my life
