They are close, and very similar, but different (AFAIK).

The Joystick API uses `/dev/input/jsX` devices and `JSIOCG...` macros.

The Input API uses `/dev/input/eventX` and `EVIOCGID` and similar.

Or did I miss that RFGW already collects the input device GUID?

there are no events arriving to /dev/input/eventX so i'm pretty sure it's a hardware fault _of some kind_
