#Exascale
▬ Exascale Labs (via XLAB): Revenue grew 111% YoY to $14.8M, driven by 124% surge in intelligent computing power services. However, net loss widened 59% to $12.2M and cash declined 36% to $2.7M. High-growth but cash-burning profile requires close monitoring....

Cramming the present #1 supercomputer, LineShine, server hall solid with 150 MILLION vintage Amiga 500 CPUs would yield just 0.000007% of its processing power—while burning 4x more electricity! Modern exascale compute is truly on another planet. 🤯💻

Re-engineering parallel astrophysical simulation codes for heterogeneous exascale computing architectures
Modern astronomy is undergoing a profound transformation. New generations of observatories are producing unprecedented volumes of data, enabling scientists to investigate the Universe with extraordinary precision. Turning these observations into scientific discoveries requires numerical simulations capable of reproducing complex physical processes across enormous spatial and temporal scales. High-performance computing has therefore become the third pillar of modern astrophysics, alongside theory and observation. Exascale supercomputers promise to revolutionise computational science, but exploiting their capabilities requires far more than running existing software on faster hardware. Modern systems combine CPUs, GPUs and increasingly complex memory hierarchies, demanding a fundamental redesign of scientific algorithms, data structures and programming models. To address this challenge, the European Union established the SPACE (Scalable Parallel Astrophysical Codes for Exascale) Centre of Excellence. SPACE brings together the developers of Europe’s flagship astrophysical simulation codes together with HPC centres, hardware vendors and software engineers to develop common methodologies, reusable software technologies and software engineering practices that enable Europe’s flagship simulation codes to fully exploit current and future EuroHPC systems. An ecosystem of flagship simulation codes Modern astrophysics encompasses an extraordinary diversity of physical phenomena, ranging from the evolution of the Universe over billions of years to the dynamics of relativistic...

"why can't they use that to cure cancer" They already do drug discovery on exascale systems, consuming 150+ gpu years... resulting in nothing. A realistic & reasonable lower bound for estimates is ~1 billion gpu years, a casual 6666666.66667x more. 10GW systems are a drop in the ocean, 10TW's coming

The products are called craftwerk and craftwerk station CWS, which the company describes as the world's first agentic AI silicon and the world's lowest-power exascale AI factory. The money goes on engineering headcount, the silicon roadmap and commercial deployment.
