They may be kidding themselves believing somehow that they’ll persevere over climate change. ExtinctionEvents are known to take 100s, 1,000s or 10K years to end.

I suspect they’ve been omnipotent for so long that it doesn’t occur to them what a severe climate would look

Sounds like “too late”…

I attended a lecture by a paleontologist 8 months ago. The subject was ExtinctionEvents.
She brought documentation for 6, so far. Thankfully someone asked her opinion on THIS ClimateCrisis. She said “no surprises beyond the accelerated rate that benchmarks were occurring”.

There have been about 1/2 dozen #ExtinctionEvents on planet earth.
If you dig into paleontology you can learn more.
Because we’ve never experienced one in our written history, we have trouble visualizing what that would mean/look like.
We couldn’t have stupid people running things at a worse time.
