I mean given that there's a significant chunk of exvie queer people here....extremely yes

We don't melt down because the deconstruction exvie crowd migrated to Threads and the tradfash groyperites are on X

ask any exvie youth pastor about that and then let them cook

Esp when you tie that up in exvie vibes

I don't think I ever did an #IntroductoryPost!

#EmotionalSupportCanadian here, with the caveat that we're going through it here in Alberta, too. That's why I'm part of #ABResistance. We're not going to let authoritarianism win.

Grew up Conservative Evangelical, now an #Exvie #Leftist.

Be on the lookout for a forthcoming essay of mine on the boom in exvangelical literature—where exvie lit has been, where it’s going, and where I’d like to see it go

Oh so the exvie dynamic
March 22, 2026 at 10:01 PM
all this banter is almost funny as an exvie vs an evangelical 🍿

Exvie here, same. Prepping for the growing government persecution as the end times heated up. I remember being groomed with stories of the underground railroad and confessing church in wwii Germany. Jokes on them, they trained us well, but didn't understand where the lines would be drawn.

Yup. Only an exvie would say it like this - a practicing evangelical would never - but it's the most logical conclusion to draw from the sum total of evangelical beliefs and practices.

Ok, I made an #exvangelical starter pack. I didn't want to mis-label folks in putting them here, so I left some out that I could have added. Please share and suggest folks to add, including yourself. We all know how vital Twitter was for the exvie community.

Being like, exvie-adjacent is very odd (on and off attended a Church of Christ growing up)

It's doesn't ruin the rest of the piece but by god, Exvie doomer brain

another exvie-oriented starter pack here.
all these years later, i still aver that the variety of post/ex-evangelical expressions is a feature, not a bug. evangelicalism causes so much harm b/c it prescribes one solution to every problem, and that's not how the world works or what it needs.
Late to the game, but trying my hand at the starter pack thing! This is an exvangelical and adjacent/relevant list that doesn't include scholars (or exvies) I find too defensive of Christianity, or those prone to argue that the Bible is inherently progressive

As an exvie adoptee, I endorse this post

Hi y'all, I'm Exvie Janeway. I started as an anonymous Twitter acct, in 2014, where I tried to work out my faith questions in a bit less fear & trembling.

My husband is #TheVulcan, & we have 4 kids:

#TheFirecracker, 19
#TheShyViolet, 16
#TheMarathonRunner, 12
& #TheSupergirl, 10

ALSO?

The TradCath version has slight differences, but listening to Exvie fellow refugees from Gilead made it clear there is so much in common— basically anything that scares them, repulses them, OR attracts them (!) is Satanic and proof that Dark Principalities & Powers are out to lure them astray.

I see progressive Christians get defensive so often yet coming into exvie/secular discussions and assuming a position of authority rather than humility, with no interest in learning how not to be tone-deaf and off-putting or where their language may still be laced with Christian supremacism

I’m trying to find all my exvie queer friends from twitter if you exist out there I miss yall

Like, I’m an exvie who emigrated from the United States, and I feel comfortable telling these people to shove it

one of the exvie realizations I had about the book of Job is that it normalizes the struggle of trying to understand what God wants from you as a *normal* part of faith and I'm here to say uh no it's not, if your faith is that unknowable? you SHOULD look outside of faith for answers elsewhere

There was a period where it seemed like it was happening weekly, sometimes with long established people on exvie Twitter. Strange times.
