Who is "We"? ExxonMobile isn't the US government, it's a private, GLOBAL, company. It's going to sell to the highest bidder.

Iowa GOP Rep & candidate for US Senate Ashley Hinson voted against ending the Iran war 7 times after taking over $217,000 in donations from oil and gas companies, while major companies like Chevron and ExxonMobile have seen record profits

because crude oil producer charges global price. brent oil went up 50% in a year and exxonmobile stock went up 30% in a year.

Sure! What do I care if ExxonMobile gets my money rather than my family? No biggie!

Oh, the reason's clear. He just didn't state it at first. ExxonMobile, in which he bought a ton of shares early on this year, has made a ton of money...much of which is tucked into his bank accounts.

Do we want our tax $$$ to be funneled to ExxonMobile, GE, Boeing…tax cuts for the already wealthy, extravagant benefits for Congress? We must elect people who we know will work for us - healthcare, childcare, education, Social Security, long term care, paid sick leave.
Let’s Go!
Congress and Senate get unlimited paid time off, premium healthcare for life, and can give themselves pay rises whenever they wish. Then they deny that to everyone else to keep us in line.

ICYMI, Alberta separatism is being driven by multimillion-dollar funding from the oil company ExxonMobile and foundations linked to American billionaires.

It's all about the oil.

I guess Carney had no 4D chess move to counter this and just said "Fuck it" and caved.

Is this real?

The people running these companies believe that climate change could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a fringe worry. Publicly, many executives soften their language to sound reasonable, but privately, the fear is real. No other industry poses this level of danger to civilization.

He didn’t actually work for ExxonMobile—he was parodying a viral resignation announcement from a researcher at Anthropic that’s either a stark warning about the dangers of AI, a TESCREAList fantasy, or a PR strategy. Possibly all 3.

@davidho.bsky.social is a climate scientist who recently resigned from ExxonMobile, and his message sounds very much like Jacob Coxon's, who resigned from an AI company. Both engineers say the people running those companies believe climate change and AI can kill mankind by the end of this decade.

I resigned from ExxonMobil today. I spent the last three years doing fossil fuel extraction research at both BP and ExxonMobil. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing to maximize extraction while the window to act closes, and gambling with our lives. More below.

I notice neither ExxonMobile nor ConocoPhillips has signed a single thing. Apparently they're waiting for "guarantees" before they invest billions. I can think of several ways how this whole Venezuela deal could crumble, and I'm sure they can think of a dozen more.
