Ohm's law states that the electric current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points. Introducing the constant of proportionality, the resistance, one arrives at the three mathematical equations used to describe this relationship:

Our #FAU was founded in 1743, and #FAU's future development requires a in depth understanding of our #FAUhistory. The #StadtArchiv of @erlangen_de edited a new book in 2021 on #FAUhistory from 1918-1945. A huge #FAUthanks to editors and authors. @UniFAU

100 years ago, #Emmy #Noether published her paper “Ideal Theory in Rings”. The paper was an important contribution to modern algebra. Noether was born in #Erlangen, studied at #FAU and became an exceptional mathematician. @UniFAU #FAUhistory #FAU100
