Google’s Fitbit Air has taken the wearable fitness market by storm, and it seems Samsung is working on a rival of sorts. Following hot on the heels of the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 will be the Galaxy Fit 4, a budget-friendly fitness tracker set to launch later this year. It’s now been spotted with the model number SM-R391 with ‘Fit4’ mentioned in documents, via Android Authority. The site has also found a diagram of the device (below) which shows it will look almost identical to the Galaxy Fit 3 (shown above). While it might be cheaper than the Fitbit Air – the Fit 3 is £59/$59 – the main difference will be that it has a screen, but there are no rumours of a similar screenless smart band from Samsung so far. It will likely be a tall 1.6-inch AMOLED display like its predecessor with a single button on the side. Android Authority It makes it closer to the Fitbit Sense 2, but that launched in 2022 and it’s unclear if or when Google will launch a new Fitbit with a screen. Samsung is working on a Galaxy Ring 2 which will be screenless, but it’s tipped to arrive in 2027. The Galaxy Fit range is similarly due a refresh, with the Fit 3 launching back in February 2024; this model came four years after the Galaxy Fit 2. Going by the leak, the Galaxy Fit 4 will have Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and is set to feature a Goodix GH3036 sensor module for optical heart rate tracking and a PPG health-monitoring chip for low-power wearables. Jan Sandbladh Whether Samsung will bring any significant upgrades is another matter. It is 2026 after all, but features like GPS for route tracking and NFC for contactless payments would be well received. If we had to bet on the Galaxy Fit 4 release date, it would be September, possibly at IFA 2026 alongside the Galaxy Tab S12 range and rumoured Galaxy Buds On, clip-on style earbuds previously known as ‘Galaxy Buds Able’.

It’s not just Huawei, Honor, and Xiaomi that offer affordable fitness wearables. With the Galaxy Fit3, Samsung also has a cheaper alternative to the Galaxy Watch in its lineup. A leak has now revealed the Galaxy Fit4 ahead of its official release.
