For all my new friends: Pumpkin suffers from Feline Interstitial Cystitis & FLUTD. When he gets stressed out, his bladder inflames. Causing him pain & urinating blood. There's way to manage it & we do it all. Daily anxiety med, prescription food, tons of toys and his own space. But there's no cure.

cat went to the vet yesterday and while we did not get any conclusive answers as to why he peed on my bed (no ear infection, vet wanted to check for crystals even though he has no other flutd symptoms) we did learn he's only a pound off of his goal weight now :)

We spent over $12k on Pumpkin. Diagnosed with FIC & FLUTD 3 yrs ago. Took awhile to find the right daily anxiety med & med to treat flare ups. Even tried a radiation procedure. Prescription food for life. Most people would’ve resulted to you know what. But We never gave up on him. And I’m so glad. 💙

We just got back from the vet and Bug is in good shape! Teeth and gums are good, kidneys are good, and the lump is benign! Just gotta work on stress management for FLUTD but he's our little superstar :"3 thank y'all for helping us out💕

Latte is on gabapentin because she has FIC/FLUTD and it helps treat her bladder issues (no flareup in 4 years!!!!!!) but because the vet that prescribed it is no longer the vet I go to, it’s not listed with a reason in her chart at the new vet I guess

It’s been a bit hard lately, my senior cat has been having issues. Spent half the day in tears and being anxious. FLUTD snuck in out of no where and my poor guy can’t go despite not having a blockage however still has crystals.
Hoping the vet visit tomorrow goes well and I’m just over reacting. :(

And apparently reading about British Shorthairs they are genetically predisposed to a lot of bad things. I know he had FLUTD around the time Olivia died. That family cannot get a break 😭

She’s battled chronic FLUTD/idiopathic cystitis for over 2 years. Originally, she never had any crystals, just inflammation, and she was doing great with daily Prozac. When she had a symptom flare up in September that wouldn’t resolve with Onsior, we found she was full of stones now ;-;. 1/2

Then my kittens got FLUTD and decided my bed, especially with me in it, was the Safest Place. Which, I guess it’s better than trying to get it out of the subfloor if. (I’d have been a lot more upset if I hadn’t had a waterproof pad!)

My cat had to go to Vet ED last night with FLUTD and I’ve only just stopped to process everything, and now he’s home with meds and so sick of me hovering over him but I don’t want to miss any signs of him getting worse and I just want to throw up, I love my silly dumb idiot son so fucking much
