Dubai City Circuit Alt, in the early jostling for position, I push against another truck so much they actually rolled right over! For that to even be possible in the game says a lot, I think.
FM7 may be frustrating, at times, but there's clearly plenty to enjoy, as well.

Tonight on Sky plays FM7, I fall in love with a ridiculously good BMW M4 Coupe Forza Edition, discover I actually kinda like the mods, not least since the grid position cards can make a big difference, like helping you escape the crush on Long Beach, & fail not to buy every classic muscle car I see.

My thinking at this point is the drivatars are an overly ambitious concept executed sloppily, especially in FM7. Just think of the factors involved: car type, track, conditions, player data. Sometimes they click in, sometimes they don't, sometimes wires cross & muscle cars drive like GT cars.

Played a bit more FM7, a single six-race muscle car event, & even in that short time things varied wildly. 2 really good races, then a really bad 1 where the lead drivatars just seemed to sprout warp drives, then 2 decent 1s, then a classic rain only affects me 1 to close out.
Now playing: Forza Motorsport 7, & enjoying it a lot more than 5.
The handling is much better, & fairer, so most of the time if you skew wide, you messed up.
The 1 issue, as always with Forza, is the erratic drivatars; 1 race you're beating them with ease, the next you just can't close in on 1st.

i have a theory that FM7 owners felt a bit of an inferiority complex toward the vastly more popular PC88, and hence wanted to rename their .D88 files, just to get that pesky 88 out of their face 😹
I’ve never seen D98, but D77 is pretty common in FM-7 land.

i've semi-recently learned that the OG 🇯🇵 scene way to name .d88 floppy image files was to rename them .d98 when they're for pc98, and .d77 when they're for fm7. looking at the images that are out there tho, i don't think they bothered to do it themselves most of the time, so not gonna bother either😹
