bought 20 DVD-R x8 to burn PS2 games
the games load but they freeze A TON, unplayable.
don't know if it's the burn speed or the disk.
Don't think it's my PS2 because I've been playing games with no issue.
I use ImgBurn for the disk
any ideas what's happening??

Be sure to get an FMCB too since disc drives are dying left and right. Thankfully you can legally rip your own games from any generic DVD drive, not to mention Other Sources (which... hot take, is honestly kinda boring), but it still kinda sucks. Slims might also have more resilient drives, unsure.

On the bright side, this was the first game we beat on the FMCB/external SSD setup so...extra punishment on top of not streaming pfft
so...I beat this travesty of a game in the discord.

Ideal setup IMO is a SATA SSD and/or a network adapter + local SMB share, FMCB installed on a Memcard Pro 2

I actually set it up from scratch and had never used FMCB on this system or the Memcard Pro 2.

all i had to do was use my old 1.95 fmcb card to run filebrowser and install the newer 1.96 fmcb (region-free) from a usb stick onto a new, used magicgate memory card i ordered and then putting the latest dev vers of mechapwn on that same (now emptied) usb, run the mechapwn elf, and follow prompts
