I visited the North Pole (AK) library today for the first time. I had some time to kill while waiting to retrieve a dog from the vet. Let me say it’s a phenomenal facility! Well done, FNSB. I needed a new library card, and I selected it as my primary location. I’ll be back soon.

ASEA showed up in force during the '26 Alaska @aflcio.org convention. From Kodiak, Fairbanks, Kenai, Seward, MatSu, and Anchorage - delegates reviewed resolutions, met with fellow union members, and experienced solidarity and union power in real time - and had some things to say! District 36 gerrymander was/is brutal for W Goldstream. I was disappointed the FNSB didn’t jump in with a least an amicus opinion. Unfortunately, legislature is representative. A Great Replacement happened in the 70-80’s when progressive libertarians were swapped for radical neoconservatives.

You did your due diligence but owners’ aren’t directly responsible for the road. How about a (FNSB? UAF?) project to run Ground Penetrating Radar along road service area roads? Pretty cheap way to find ice lenses, cavities, etc. and understand the extent of the problem.

Yes, all of it. Not to grouse about the home team, but UAF/GI tends to concentrate on the global picture. Yes, understand the EQ mechanism, but understand the local soil conditions and response. Last week I ran into a U of Arkansas group doing a strong motion study at FNSB fire stations. Arkansas?

One of the things I've respected about the elections workers that I've worked with (mostly the clerks' office at FNSB) is that they are scrupulously impartial.

I hope the AK Division of Elections can uphold that tradition of impartiality.

Cool, looks like they added Alaska in the last month. I use it all the time for NM. FlightAware is good for aircraft (ADS-B). Not all apps aggregate accurately. This morning I got an IPAWS alert for Anderson evac.— more than 12 hrs late. I noticed FNSB updated their RAVE app, be good to check that.
