89 - The aggregate score of 89 points between Western Force (45) & Moana Pasifika (44) today is the 3rd highest in a Round 1 game in Super Rugby history (112 - Hurricanes vs Waratahs, 2021 Trans-Tasman season & 100 - Hurricanes vs Sunwolves in 2017). Frenetic.

La Force au bout du bout !
Match complétement fou entre les Moana Pasifika et la Western Force. Ben Donaldson arrache la victoire pour la province australienne à la 85e avec un essai et surtout la transformation.

holy sh!tballs that is a start to the season. margins of 8, 1, 4, 11 and 1 point just now. I can't remember a better comeback than the Force just now.
and the best thing? no Aussie team from the last 15+ years* would've gone 26 phases and scored under the posts from inside their own half #FORvMOA

man. that lineout from Moana on the Force line 67th minute, camera side. watch for yourself, this is some missed obstruction / truck-and-trailer
Morgan picks it up a few minutes later but wow incredible miss #FORvMOA

What an ending to that game! Heroic moment from Ben Donaldson after 25+ phases of play, heartbreak for Moana Pasifika. #FORvMOA #SuperRugbyPacific

Report Card #FORvMOA. Force B. Good in parts, lacked composure at critical points. Scrum an issue. Somehow pulled it out of the fire. Moana B. Played well and cohesively all game. Unfortunate to go down well after full time.

I know scrum resets are our bête noire, but this is the Moana front row driving up. very much not "straight and square"!
you shouldn't be able to get away with this sort of technique error and win a penalty because you've dominated and gone forward #FORvMOA

are you kidding me Jordie Way? ball goes straight to the turf from Havili-Talitui is a nonsense call thinking that using "two hands" makes a difference. c'mon man. easy penalty #FORvMOA
Angus (Gardner) explained this perfectly in 2018 on Fox Sports -
youtu.be/z3pTLJVE1uo
TL;DR the test is simple
a) is the player in a "realistic position to regather the ball" Y? penalty
b) is there a linebreak opportunity for the team in possession? Y? yellow card
c) penalty try SOP

Darcy Swain quite revealing in his interview during the warm-up for #FORvMOA on why he moved west to the Force "[Simon Cron] told me this place wants to grow and get better. and so do I"
three times he spoke of needing a change in 11 seconds.
