Not gonna lie. After 9-11 every time a plane flew low overhead, I had to stop and watch where it was going. Subconsciously I've been on FPCON Charlie for 2 decades.

I think one of the weirder ones is that FPCON at military bases is never "Normal" and seldom "Alpha" anymore.
Institutionally, the default level is Bravo.
