I don't think they previously commented on what From's reaction was like, and I don't think we knew that Sony wanted a sequel at that time.
Going to BN because Sony wasn't interested in DeS was sorta the understanding. But knowing Sony wanted a DeS sequel makes From's decision not to more damning.

From's games like already can't really work in another medium imo, but this at least ensures I'll never be morbidly curious!
I hadn't heard of Qzilla, the production company behind Crunchyroll's Sekiro anime. The trailer okay, but something felt kind of off. Looked them up on MAL and they didn't seem to have much motion in terms of the thirteen things its produced. Checked the company website and lo and behold.

I will say though that Elden Ring feels like the most uncompromising of From's Souls games
It puts so much more trust in the player to figure shit out whereas the direction From's games had been moving in was to make things more linear, harder to be in a position where you don't know where to go

I have had a good time with Elden Ring Nightreign but under very specific circumstances. I think it’s a fascinating game that gets everything mostly right, but it’s also the antithesis of how most want to play From’s games, so even longtime fans may struggle with it.

With so few built-in levers to mitigate the difficulty, Nightreign ACTUALLY demands you to just git gud to succeed in a way most of From's games don't. Sure, there's some room for experimentation and play style, but the spectrum of viable strategic options is MUCH narrower
