When humanity reached out in peace, they answered; but not the way we hoped. Some visitors are not here to negotiate.

Grainy, dim security footage captures a heavily armored alien warrior striding through a wrecked corridor. The creature’s helmet resembles a reflective insect carapace, streamlined and menacing. Blood drips from a vicious, curved blade held loosely in its hand. Red emergency lights and broken machinery fill the background, framing the invader in an apocalyptic industrial setting. This is no longer a diplomatic envoy — this is conquest in progress. A towering alien figure stands beneath a pale desert sky, its most striking feature a massive, glittering dome where its upper face should be. The dome is composed of thousands of tiny, hexagonal lenses, resembling a compound eye from insect biology, shimmering with iridescent colors. The alien’s skin appears leathery and organic, merging with biomechanical textures across its body. Its expression is unreadable — neither hostile nor friendly — conveying an overwhelming sense of otherness during humanity's first contact.

Explain to me why the Secretary of
State is not heading up the diplomatic efforts with Iran.
Isn’t that literally the job of the Secretary of State ?

I’d like to see him try to tell Maura Healy what to do with mail in voting in Massachusetts 😂😂. I think she would have much to say. As would most of the people.

On this day in 1915, Japan issued its 21 Demands, all directed at China. They offer clear echoes to today's demands made by Russia, China, and the U.S. toward Ukraine, Taiwan, and Greenland, respectively.

The Demands of 1915 focused on increasing Japanese control over some Chinese territory, financial dealings that included revenue from railways to leases, mining and steel manufacturing operations in China, and placing Japanese officials in China’s government. Chinese officials accepted most demands, except for changing the nature of their parliament. Still, the reactions of the Chinese people to Japan’s 21 Demands weakened the sovereignty of China and increased Chinese nationalism. This put the two countries on a terrible collision course in the run up to World War Two, when Japanese expansionism was given free reign, fueling Chinese resentment that still exists today.
