AFAIK no one understood the larger mechanism at work: a tactic that uses Facebook pages, groups AND profiles *together* as one unit.
I am 99% sure this was just a for-profit spammy/social media marketing thing. But as I said earlier, these kinds of "Facebook tricks" are sold as a service.
